Game Jar ("we") runs gamejar.io, a website of free daily games. This page explains what information is involved when you play and what we do with it. The short version: there are no accounts, your game progress stays in your own browser, and we never sell personal information.
Your results, streaks and settings (such as sound and dark mode) are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
If you use Move my stats, your stats are packed into a link or QR code. The stats sit in the part of the link after the "#", which browsers do not send to our servers, so we never receive them. Anyone you share that link with can load your stats, so only send it to yourself.
When you finish a daily puzzle, the game may send the puzzle number, how many guesses you took, and a random ID created in your browser, so we can show everyone the day's average and count each player once. We only keep a scrambled (hashed) form of that ID, delete it after two days, and never link it to your name or anything else about you.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
To keep the games free, we may show ads served by Google and its partners. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technology to show ads and measure them, including ads based on your interests where the law allows. Where required (for example in the EU, the UK and Switzerland), we will ask for your consent before this happens, and you can change your choice at any time. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage personalised ads at Google Ad Settings.
Game Jar is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You can clear your saved games at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal information held about you. Since we do not keep accounts, most information about your play exists only on your device. To ask about anything else, email us at the address below.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
